Christina Ann Zundell Crook Ballard Obituary

Christina A.Z.C. Ballard ....Payson-- Mrs. Christina A. Zundell Crook Ballard
age 91, Payson's oldest resident died late Monday at her home after a lingering illness. She was born in Council Bluff, Iowa Feb 8 1848, a daughter of John and Christina Lautenschlager Zundell. She came to Payson with her parents when a child. She was married to the late Joseph E. Crook, Dec 2 1864 and to James E. Ballard in 1897. Mr Ballard died several years ago. Mrs. Ballard worked as a dressmaker and tailor during her early life until she retired in 1897. She was an honorary member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and an active church member.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: David H. Crook, Santaquin; Mrs Adora Nash, Vernal; Mrs Mary A. Crook, Calif; John W. Crook and Mrs Hattie Wilson, Payson; 22 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. in Payson First Ward. Interment will be in Payson City cemetery. Friends may call at the Deseret Mortuary Thursday and at the residence Friday prior to services.
